Vodou: best way to relationships alive, whether natural or supernatural. You call the spirits to honour them, you make offerings, sing, dance, make merry. You work for them, they work for you.

1. The potomitan. Literally: center pillar. Channel through which the spirits, traveling from Africa, either descend from the heavens, or rise from the earth.

2. Offerings for the spirits. water. food. perfume. liquor. according to their preference.

3. Cellphone. Another good way to keep relationships alive. :-D

Spiritual tech, social tech!

I stumbled upon an article a short while ago that had me positively squealing with delight. Its as if someone had asked me "What the heck do you think you're doing?" and the author stepped in to answer for me.

This blog has been years in the making. Ten years to be exact. Not ten years of work and preparation, but 10 years of questions and hesitation.

You see it, you don't speak it.

You don't speak because knowledge held in secret is worth more than knowledge flaunted.

Or, you don't speak because what you saw was too horrible for words - literally unspeakable.

I am ginen.

I believe that everything around us is alive and conscious energy, that this energy shapes our past, present and future. I believe that individuals and communities can submit to that power, but can also call it, shape it and channel it.

I am ginen. There are many ways to connect to the unknown and I chose the way that generations of my ancestors imagined, created and fine tuned over millenia.
